Our house has lots of beautiful wood trim, but sadly the previous owner’s large dog scratched much of it. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to do much to fix it. One day I was browsing the cleaning aisles at Target and saw Old English Scratch Cover. It was pretty cheap, so I thought I might as well try it. I am so pleased with the results.
In the picture below you can see the worst piece of trim in our house. It’s been about six weeks since I treated this trim, and it’s faded a tiny bit, but not much. It’s so easy to use, I don’t mind touching it up every couple of months! (Don’t mind our gross door – I still need to repaint it.)
Here’s a table on our front porch. The wood is very soft and it scratches easily. Old English makes it look so pretty! This one needs to be touched up every couple of weeks.
One thing I will say is that it’s MESSY. I am typically very neat, but this stuff is thin and runny, so it can easily stain clothing. Make sure you wear work clothes and gloves.
